moduł 13.2, In our furrier’s workshop we offer different furs and fur goods as well as furrier services. We process fur skins into hides, furs, jackets, sheepskin coats and fur goods – caps, shawls. The range of fur skins is very wide. To make it easier to identify them we divide them into types – most often by their origin. Skins from hunting and fur farming, for example martens, muskrat, polecats, foxes, otters, minks, coypus.Skins from domestic animals, for example sheep, lambs, karakul sheep, goats, rabbits. Skins from marine animals, for example seals. Skins from birds, for example swans, geese. Tanned fur skins consist of skin tissue and coat. The coat depends on the skin type and as a result of tanning, colouring and refining processes it can be very different, it can be: natural – no treatment, sheared – with shortened hair shafts, depending on the customer’s needs, plucked – with removed guard hair and direction hair by means of plucking, curly in the form of karakul lamb fur curls or curled on purpose The customer of our furrier’s workshop can choose from skins of different animals with different properties:coat (captions: colour, lustre, density, height and thickness of the hair, softness and elasticity),skin tissue (thickness, softness, tensile strength and elongation, chemical composition)properties of skin fur as a whole.(area, weight, heat insulation, durability). In the workshop we use skins after quality tests for skin defects – of the coat and skin tissue, which guarantees the high quality of products and services.
