The profession of electrician is one of great significance for we simply wouldn’t do without them. It requires a strong sense of responsibility as there is a danger of getting electrocuted. Therefore special means of protection must be used at all times. An electrician’s job involves designing, installing and finally activating the electrical systems and lightening.

Their job includes the following tasks:

  1. installation and activation of electrical machines and devices in accordance with technical documentation,

  2. installation and activation of electrical systems, based on technical documentation,

  3. assessment of technical condition of electrical machines and devices on the basis of measurements once they have been installed,

  4. installation of control, regulatory, and security systems of electrical machines and devices, based on technical documentation.

An electrician should meet the following character traits:

  1. patience and composure,

  2. sense of responsibility,

  3. precision,

  4. mathematical and technical skills,

  5. stress immunity,

  6. and systematic approach.

Due to the fast development of the discipline, an electrician needs to constantly broaden their horizons. They may find employment in:

-companies that produce and transmit electricity,

-companies that produce machines and electrical equipment,

-and construction companies.

An electromechanic is a person who handles operation and repair of electrical devices. Their job is to design, install, operate, and repair various electrical devices ranging from household appliances and electrical vehicle systems to complex machines and specialised equipment. Based on their knowledge, electromechanic is capable not only of assessing the technical condition of an electrical installation but also of repairing any damage or signs of deterioration.

The basic tasks of an electromechanic include:

-installation and activation of electrical machines and devices in accordance with technical documentation,

-assessment of technical condition of electrical machines and devices on the basis of measurements once they have been installed,

-installation of control, regulatory, and security systems of electrical machines and devices, based on technical documentation.

An electromechanic should meet the following character traits:

-focusing attention,

-perseverance,

-ability to work in repetitive conditions,

-thoroughness,

-perceptiveness,

-well‑developed sensomotoric skills,

-excellent memory,

-technical skills,

-and knowledge of at least one foreign language.

Due to the fast development of the discipline, an electromechanic needs to constantly broaden their horizons. Qualified workers may find employment in:

-factories,

-car workshops,

-technical schools departments,

-and companies working in design and construction of production lines.

An electrical technician handles installation of system components, damage localization and repair, and keeps records of the tasks performed. A well‑qualified electrician is able to prevent machines from failure, check the functioning of chosen means of protection against electrocution, and regulate control systems.

The abilities obtained during the training course may prove useful while working in factories, with service providers, and in energy, construction, and metallurgy industry. Moreover, an electrician must also be prepared to work behind a desk.

A good employee should be thorough and scrupulous. Due to the job’s specificity, patience, perseverance, and fatigue resistance are in great demand. Good manual skills are also to the advantage of a potential electrician. A person who wishes to become an electrician must never cease to improve themselves for the discipline keeps developing at high pace.

The profession of electrical technician provides the possibility to find a well‑paid job both in the country and abroad. Due to the fast technological development it requires constant self‑improvement.
