A central processing unit is the most important part of a computer set. Depending on its architecture, it contains in a common case a power supply, a motherboard with a processor, a hard disc drive with the operating system and the main memory (RAM) as well as communication ports for other components of the set.
A peripheral deviceperipheral device is any part of the computer other than the processor and the main memory, e.g. a keyboard, monitor, mouse, printer, image scannerimage scanner, computer speaker, microphone etc.
Various peripheral devices, which expand the features of the computer, can be connected to the central processing unit. They can be connected with special cables or wirelessly, e.g. via BluetoothBluetooth or Wi‑FiWi‑Fi.
BluetoothBluetooth
Bluetooth is a wireless communication using short‑wavelength radio waves. It is used for exchanging data between various electronic devices such as a keyboard, computer, smartphone etc.
Wi‑FiWi‑Fi
Wi‑Fi is a wireless communication using long‑wavelength radio waves (from several metres to several kilometres). It is used mainly for wireless local area networking. Wi‑Fi is the abbreviation of Wireless Fidelity.

A 3D printer is a device that enables creating three‑dimensional objects.

An interactive whiteboard is a whiteboard connected to the computer - and a multimedia projector. It combines the function of a display, a whiteboard and a large touchscreen.
Many peripheral devices can be connected to the computer in order to expand its features. They can communicate with the central processing unit with special cables or wirelessly (via BluetoothBluetooth or Wi‑FiWi‑Fi).
